Labor Law Quick Facts:
The New Mexico minimum wage for 2008 is $6.50 per hour.
For tipped employees, the minimum wage is $2.13 per
hour. Employees are entitled to overtime after 40 hours
under state law. The New Mexico Occupational Health
and Safety Bureau (NMOHSB) regulates worker safety.
The New Mexico Human Rights Act prohibits discrimination
based on race, color, ancestry, age, sex, national origin,
physical or mental handicap, serious medical condition,
religion, sexual orientation, gender identity and spousal
affiliation.*
