Labor Law Quick Facts:
The Nebraska minimum wage of $5.85 per hour applies
to every employer with 4 or more employees. Overtime
must be paid after 40 hours under federal law. The Nebraska
Non-English Speaking Workers Protection Act requires
that employers provide a translator on each shift, if
more than 10% of the workforce speaks a single language
other than English. Work permits are required for all
employees under 16 years of age. Employees are entitled
to 12 weeks of unpaid, job-protected leave under the
federal FMLA.*
