Labor Law Quick Facts:
The Michigan minimum wage of $7.15 per hour ($2.65
for tipped employees) applies to every employer with
2 or more workers. Workers are entitled to overtime
after 40 hours. Employees who are 16 to 19 years old
may be paid a training wage of $4.25 for the first 90
days. Thereafter, workers16 or 17 years old may be paid
85% of the minimum wage, or $6.08 per hour. The Michigan
Anti-Discrimination Laws prohibit bias based on marital
and family status, height, weight, arrest record, and
genetic information.*
