Labor Law Quick Facts:
The state minimum wage is $7.15 per hour. Delaware
has no state family leave plan. Instead, workers are
entitled to 12 weeks of unpaid, job protected leave
under the federal FMLA. Under a law introduced in 2007,
Delaware employers must provide workers’ compensation
coverage for independent contractors, sole proprietors
and partners. Changes to the unemployment insurance
laws mean that employers will pay unemployment tax on
the first $10,500 earned by each worker in 2008.*
